I love denim on denim, regardless of season. Blazer is thrifted and these amazing jeans are from Torrid. The fit is perfect and I love the high waist. Instead of a camisole, I decided on a scarf to fill in the gap. I can't wait to pair this blazer with my wide leg trousers and a bustier.
Before we end this post, I wanted to share a bit of my experience at Bloomingdales today. We toured the store (which was absolutely beautiful btw) and were constantly told it's a "community store". A store for the "people". In a community with a fairly high population of women over a size 10, you would think this would be taken into account and plus sizes would be included in the store. Of course, there is no plus size section (the same as the other 3 locations in Southern California). When asked why not, I was informed "It's not a business for us in-store, but it's a business for us online". *insert confused face*. I was not surprised, but I cannot lie and say I wasn't slightly disappointed. Since when are plus sizes not an in-store business??? Mo mentioned to me that perhaps some plus women aren't confident enough to shop in high end department stores; some would rather shop in the privacy of their own homes, without the fear of possible ridicule. I found this absurd, but then again my confidence is extremely healthy and I overlook the whispers/opinions of others.
What do you all think? Is this why Saks and Bloomies don't sell plus sizes in their stores?
*Edit* I was contacted by Bloomingdales Public Relations Katie Nida-Rovana and was informed that the Sherman Oaks, Newport Beach and Century City locations offer plus sizes. I apologize for the incorrect information.
P.S.-The styling of the mannequins was perfection! I'm normally turned off by "ready made outfits", but these mannequins made me want to purchase every item they wore.
I fell in LOVE with this look and will be re-creating this in Size Ivory as soon as possible.
why are you so flyyyyyyy, ughhh

Love it.........I too love the diva styled mannequins the pieces are flyy!
ReplyDeleteI think it's the other way around. The companies want the money from plus size consumers but they don't want to have their establishments associated with them.
